Pontyclun Car Hire Agreement
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines important terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Pontyclun, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the type of vehicle, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made on our website, by phone, or directly at our Pontyclun office. A deposit might be necessary to confirm your booking. The full payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions securely processed through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as when it was collected; refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please inform us as soon as possible, as late returns may incur extra fees. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that occur during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to help limit your financial liability. It is recommended to review these options thoroughly. You remain accountable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, improper use, or violation of these Terms is your responsibility, regardless of any insurance policy.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited uses of rented vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to others is not allowed. Driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating outside of agreed geographical boundaries without authorization is also forbidden.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Constraints
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Pontyclun will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for the rental within the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
